Cleaning is not always for everyone, especially in the bathroom, it is often unpleasant. But because hygiene is so important here, but some corners are really damn tricky to get clean, here are 12 clever tricks that make your job easier. Believe me, both your butt and all future guests will thank you!
1) In joints, mold tends to accumulate over time, persisting stubbornly in the porous cracks. A mix of baking soda and bleach, rubbed with an old toothbrush, will do away with the dark marks faster than you can ever scrub.
2) Toothbrush cup and holder can be washed in the dishwasher. Of course, this is also possible with soap dishes and dispensers.
3) Mold on the seals is particularly annoying: No matter how long you rub, the rubber remains germinated. Add cotton balls or strips of bleach and put them on the greasy spots overnight. Everything is gone in the morning.
4) Dirty sinks and tubs shine like new when you sprinkle them with baking soda first. Now rub with an old towel. Then fill the tub or basin with water, in case of very heavy soiling, pour warm water and vinegar over it. If you have a tub with a whirlpool function, turn it on. This will also clean the nozzles. When drained, the baking powder vinegar mixture also cleans your tubes.
5) Instead of cleaning a dirty hard-plastic stopper, go straight to the bottom of the problem and unscrew it. Loose dirt from the drain you can pull out with pliers and clean with vinegar and baking soda.
6) If your shower curtain looks like it needs a refresher, do the following: Put it in the washing machine with 2 caps of vinegar. Do not wash it too hot and avoid the tumble dryer if it is made of plastic. This could melt the thin plastic. Simply hang it back on the holder to dry.
7) To make the sink shine after cleaning: Rub in rinse aid with a cloth. Rinse with clean water and rub dry with an old towel. Metal fittings shine when sprayed with glass cleaner and polished with a microfibre cloth.
8) Calcifications on metal parts disappear with a mixture of vinegar, lemon juice and dishwashing detergent. To do this, pour vinegar and dish soap into a spray bottle approximately equal parts and mix with 60 ml lemon juice. Spray, leave for 30 minutes, then rinse with clean water and wipe dry.
9) Badly calcified shower heads become clean again when you put them in a plastic bag filled with vinegar. Simply put the bag over the shower head and fasten it with a rubber band. Let the head soak for a while, then the lime dissolves by itself.
10) Water rims in the toilet disappear if you sprinkle lemon zest powder (for example, the good old Ahoy spray) into the bowl all over the place. Let it work for a few hours or overnight and brush. The citric acid in the powder eliminates the stubborn deposits.
11) If you want to do without chemical cleaning agents for the soil, you can mix your own. Mix in equal parts water, vinegar, cleaning alcohol and a few drops of detergent and clean with this solution the floor. With additional essential oils of your choice, the wiper gets a pleasant smell. Eucalyptus or tea tree oil have a disinfectant effect.
12) Not only the toilet wants to be clean, but also the associated brush. Fill the brush holder with hot water and add 2-3 caps of bleach. The brush is placed in this solution. After about an hour tipping everything, rinse with hot water and leave to dry. This cleans and disinfects brush and holder.
